The Sustainable Land Management (SLM) project is a component within a framework that brings together different stakeholders to address key issues. The SLM project, strategically and incrementally, promotes and institutionalizes SLM practices through collaborative arrangements between the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) to deliver broader technical options to farmer groups.
NARO and MAAIF are both implementing the SLM activities, many of which derive from sizeable body of analytical work and investment programming by the government and district local governments. The project promotes SLM information support, investment planning, and monitoring across the agricultural sector by strengthening the performance of MAAIF and NARO.
